Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is a rapidly expanding technology business which manufactures bespoke digital cameras for scientific space applications.

This role gives the successful candidate an opportunity to be a major contributor to the full 360 lifecycle of a project. The role will include all aspects of system design from initial concept, through to design, build and test.

In this role you will be play a key role in the Design and Production teams delivering mechanical engineering support to the product lines.

The successful candidate to the position of Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will provide mechanical design to support the development of our clients products. This involves the creation of conceptual and detailed designs for vacuum-compatible and in-vacuum camera systems using 3D CAD and the creation of manufacturing drawings for parts and assemblies, as well as supporting the procurement and processing of such parts and assemblies maintaining good quality control and positive supplier engagement.

Successful applicant will have:

• A master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Practical experience working as a mechanical engineer performing tasks as per the key responsibilities would be beneficial
• Proficient in Solidworks and Solidworks Simulation
• Practical experience in mechanical assembly and testing of mechanical parts
• Ability to produce accurate written records
• Experience of FEA and/or thermal analysis
• UK passport holder
