Mark Newland

STEM Recruitment Manager

Mark has over 15 years’ experience recruitment, sourcing top talent across STEM-related industries, with a proven track record of successful placements.

At STEM Recruitment, Mark predominantly places graduates and experienced hires from engineering or mathematical backgrounds, but his previous experience has covered international vacancies from junior to boardroom level.

Mark takes a client-focussed approach – many of his clients are companies he has built excellent relationships with and helped to source multiple hires over many years. Mark loves to take a strategic approach to problem-solving, helping him to provide tailored support to each individual client.

Jodie Atterton

STEM Recruitment Consultant

Jodie is an experienced recruitment consultant specialising in placing candidates in roles based in the science industry. With experience in entry-level, graduate, senior, and head hunter – level positions, Jodie’s expertise in talent acquisition enables her to match exceptional candidates to diverse roles in STEM.

Jodie studied science at university and loves being able to combine her academic background with her work in recruitment.

2014

Recruitment experts in STEM

STEM Recruitment begins as STEM Graduates, with Director, Stephen Rooney and Recruitment Manager, Mark Newland at the helm.

2016

Growing a dynamic team

Jodie Atterton joins the team as a Recruitment Consultant and develops a specialist science desk.

2018

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Sister company, STEM Women, is established, with a focus on EDI in STEM and industry-leading recruitment events. The two companies work closely to ensure STEM Recruitment has EDI at its core.

2022

The team move to a new, larger office in the heart of Liverpool's business district.

2024

STEM Recruitment is launched, building on the success of STEM Graduates and reflecting the wealth of roles for experienced hires in STEM, alongside graduate positions.

Our Charity Work

Our commitment to charitable and community work  includes offering 2 days additional annual leave to employees, to allow them to volunteer for a charity of their choice. We also pledges £250 in charitable or community donations each quarter to a worthy cause chosen by our team. Our team regularly take part in charity activities in their spare time, including charity walks and fun runs, which the company supports with donations.

As a business we encourage our people to think more sustainably, developing greener practices to reduce waste. We are continually looking to improve our practices to be environmentally friendly, through limited paper usage, car shares and working from home.
